Call for Delegates – Sessions 2023

We are excited to announce that the Calls for Delegates for our upcoming Regional and National Sessions 2023 are now open!

Sessions like this are events primarily carried out for first-time Delegates or Delegates with limited experience (e.g. Delegates that have attended an EYP Mini Session). The Sessions will last three to four days for Delegates and include all typical elements of an EYP Session: one day of Teambuilding, one to two days of Committee Work and one day of General Assembly.

The participation fee for Regional Sessions is generally set at 60€. However, there is a discount for delegates that sign up together with a friend or as part of a delegation, for whom the participation fee will be 45€ each.

The participation fee for the National Selection Conference is set at 80€ and there will not be a discount for delegations.

Students from the age of 16 can participate in Sessions either as individual Delegates or in a delegation of 4 students from the same school. In the allocation of spots for the session, delegations will be preferred over individual applicants. Austrian participants of the session will be invited to attend the National Selection Conference 2023 subsequently and have the chance of being selected to represent EYP Austria at international events. However delegates can also sign up directly for the National Selection Conference 2023 if they wish to do so.

Head-Organiser Training (HOT) 2022

On the 12 and 13 November 2022 the annual Head-Organiser Training took place online. Like every year this training is conducted by the Board Members of EYP Austria and strives to provide the Head-Organisers of our upcoming multi-day events with all the tools they need to succeed in their work.

Organising multi-day events takes several months of preparation work and requires the fulfillment of hundreds of large and small tasks by a large group of people, all coordinated by the Head-Organisers and their NC Board Mentors. Throughout the event the Head-Organisers took part in trainings ranging from topics such as Fundraising, Leadership and Delegate Acquisition to Sustainability and EYP Austrias Corporate Identity.

Thanks to the online format of the event all Head-Organisers were able to come together and for the first time in a long time Core-Organisers were also included. They attended modules together with their respective Head-Organisers and will now be able to support their Organising Teams even better in the upcoming months. Thank you to everyone who worked on and participated in the HOT 2022!

Corporate Identity of EYP Austria

The Coporate Identity (CI) is a strategy encompassing guidelines on branding and communication features that helps create a unified image for the organisation. These guidelines govern how the identity is applied and usually include approved organisation logos, color palettes, typefaces, page layouts, fonts, as well as other features. The CI is applied to all official and most unofficial documents we create and publish as EYP Austria as well as the EYP Network in general.
Members of EYP Austria can access all documents explaining EYP Austria’s Corporate Identity in this drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B8Kq25DM9Or5c0d5M256eTVpeVE?resourcekey=0-57nJIllfke_UXvWTZ8FtGg

IT & Data Coordinator 2022/23 Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Nico, and I have the honour of being your IT & Data Coordinator for the following year. A bit of information about myself before I tell you what I do: I am 17 years old and live and study Computer Science in Vienna. This passion goes back to my childhood because I never understood the necessity of doing simple tasks yourself if a computer could easily do them for you.

In my time as the IT & Data Coordinator, I will not only be assisting EYP Austria with any issues relating to IT and its maintenance but also upgrading (or, when necessary, creating) any automated process for simplicity and efficiency. I am thrilled to be in this position, and I encourage anyone who wishes to work with me to improve IT systems for EYP Austria to reach out to me. We can better EYP Austria in our own way, whether by creating our own projects or applying necessary changes.
For processes to run smoothly, open communication also plays a massive part in IT. Therefore please feel free to contact me if you are experiencing any problems or have questions via nico.janis@eyp.at!

Delegates Abroad

Last Sunday the 97th International Session came to an end. EYP Austria was represented by seven delegate, you can read some of their insights in the following paragraphs:

Being a delegate at the International Session of Kortrijk was very special to me. The exchange with people from so many different countries was something I have not experienced before. I feel very proud about the fact that our resolution will be able to reach actual delegates of the European Parliament and our ideas might have an impact on the world.

-Marco Spellas

My personal highlight of the session was meeting so many people of various countries. During team building, we tried to guess what certain words or phrases in each other’s language mean, that was very fun. During committee work I saw our cultural differences very clearly and everyone’s situation at home is unlike someone else’s. It is so interesting to think about because in the end, all of us gathered in Kortrijk.
