European Year of Youth Survey

Following the announcement made by President von der Leyen in her 2021 State of the Union address, the Commission has adopted its formal proposal to make 2022 the European Year of Youth. The year will include a series of events and activities for young people. The idea is to boost the efforts of the European Union, European Member States, regional and local authorities in recognising youth’s efforts during the pandemic and supporting and engaging with young people as we emerge from it.

Now the Commission wants to hear your expectations, interests, and ideas for the European Year of Youth. To make your voice heard in the preparation of activities, you can participate in this survey.

Flipchart Workshop | 11 November

This workshop hosted by JEF Styria is about making flipcharts more original and lively, regardless of individual drawing skills. The program includes visualisation approaches with moderation cards, crayons, pencils and flipchart sketches as an alternative to digital presentation tools and how to sketch content quickly and understandably.

It will take place on 11 November from 17:00 to 20:00 at Steiermarkhof in Graz (Ekkehard-Hauer-Straße 33). The number of participants is limited, so if you are interested, make sure to register!

European Future Forum | 17 November

On 17 November, EYP Austria is hosting its second European Future Forum, this time with the topic “Horizon Europe, Research and Innovation: where should science lead us?”.

Over the course of the English-language programme lasting from 9:00 to 13:00 CET (this will include breaks), there will be an expert talk on the topic by our special guest Philipp Brugner, and discussions about possible visions of the future within smaller groups among the participants.

The event’s main focus will be Horizon Europe, the biggest multinational funding programme for research and innovation that will finance thousands of projects with a budget of €95.5 billion until 2027. We want to examine the origin and the structure of the programme and focus on the political, economic and social relevance of the research it will fund. In connection, we will also talk about the scientific work environment in a European context and in close relationship with the EU, which shall give school and university students valuable insights for their career orientation.

Our expert Philipp Brugner is leading project manager for EU-funded projects at ZSI – Centre for Social Innovation and writes commentaries on European politics for newspapers in Austria and Switzerland.

The event is taking place online and open to all interested individuals aged 16 and over. You can register here as a participant until 12 November 2021, 23:59 CET.

We hope to see you there!
