State of the Union – Stream, Analysis and Discussion

On 14 September at 09:00 CEST the President of the European Commission Ursual von der Leyen will give her State of the Union address in the European Parliament. The President will reflect on the achievements of the past months as well as offer an outlook on prevalent issues such as the war in Ukraine, its influence on energy security and inflation, the fight against climate change as well as questions of european solidarity. 

Following the State of the Union there will be an Analysis and Discussion on the address by a panel of speakers hosted by the Representation of the European Commission in Austria together with the Austrian Society for European Policy (Österreichische Gesellschaft für Europapolitik ÖGfE). 

The Panel will consist of  Carina Milborn (Information Director Puls4), Ursula Plassnik (former Diplomat and Foreign Minister of Austria), Martin Selmayr (Head of the Representation of Representation of the European Commission in Austria) and President of the European Youth Parliament Austria Emily Usner. The panel will be moderated by Paul Schmidt (General Secretary of the Society of European Policy in Austria).
