EYP Austria is looking forward to a great school/university year 2014/15. We are planning to organise an unseen number of sessions in Austria, improve on the concept of Regional Sessions and expand to Tyrol.

To reach these goals, the board needs the support and commitment of our members. Therefore we are proud to hereby open the Call for Head Organisers for all upcoming sessions!

Head organising an event is both challenging and rewarding. Over a period of several months Head Organisers fundraise, find and book venues, publish calls and information about the event and closely cooperate with the board, to name a few of their responsibilities. Ultimately, this work will guarantee another addition to the high quality sessions that EYP Austria has hosted in the past year – and it will have your name written all over it.

Call for International Trainers

Dear EYPers,

We have now launched the call for international trainers for EYP Austria‘s Alumni Weekend from 5th to 7th of September 2014 in the beautiful Krems an der Donau, near Vienna. We are looking for experienced EYPers to lead the following trainings and workshops:

  • Chairs intermediate, which will cover chairing both for beginners and more advanced participants;
  • Organising, where experience as an organiser at an Austrian session is an advantage, but not a prerequisite;
  • New Media & PR, which will be held together with Florian Rogner (florian.rogner@eypaustria.org), Member of the Board of EYP Austria responsible for PR & IT and leader of the Media Content Team;
  • The European Union;
  • also, we are open for proposals for other trainings.

The Alumni Weekend is set out to be a high-quality training event for EYP Austria alumni. Please find detailed information about the event and the application process in the official call and the application form.

Calls for Team Members

Dear EYP Austria Members,

Over the next year, the Board of EYP Austria would like to improve its work by expanding existing teams as well as creating new ones. To do this, we are now looking for members for the following teams:

  • Academic Quality Team (Lia Pachler)
  • Fundraising Team (Konstantin Kraus)
  • Law Team (Sarah König)
  • Media Content Team (Florian Rogner)
  • Regional Coordinators (David Rauch)
  • Team on International Affairs (Jelena Stevanović)

Becoming a member of one of these teams is not only a great opportunity to to gain experience in different areas, it also enables you to bring forward your creative ideas for EYP Austria and shape the organisation.

Habemus Vorstand 2014/15

Liebe Mitglieder,

die Generalversammlung des Vereins Europäisches Jugendparlament Österreich hat am 7. Juni 2014 in den Barocken Suiten des Museumsquartiers Wien stattgefunden und einige Neuigkeiten mit sich gebracht. So war die Generalversammlung zum ersten Mal in der Vereinsgeschichte von Beginn an beschlussfähig, da mehr als 50 Prozent der Mitglieder entweder persönlich anwesend waren oder ihr Wahl- und Stimmrecht mittels Bevollmächtigung in Anspruch genommen haben. Auf diesem Wege möchte sich der alte sowie der neue Vorstand recht herzlich bei allen Mitgliedern für das zahlreiche Erscheinen wie auch das Vertrauen bedanken!

Dem Antrag zur Entlastung des alten Vorstandes wurde stattgegeben und eine Wahlkommission bestehend aus Johanna Fürst und Christiane Kraus hat die Neuwahlen durchgeführt.

Call for Head-Organisers

EYP Austria has seen many unique highlights this year. This is made possible with the help of many diligent and passionate young people who are organising these events with their visions and ideas. Meanwhile, we are restless, and we are now looking for the ones who will lead EYP Austria’s future events to glory.

Concretely, we are looking for Head-Organisers for the Austrian Alumni Weekend, as well as EYP on Ski.

All Head-Organisers will be working with one member of the Board as their mentor. Documentation and planning documents from previous events will be provided for Head-Organisers. Potential applicants may of course contact the Board, or the Organisers of past events with any questions.

Austrian Alumni Weekend

The main responsibilities for Head-Organisers of the Austrian Alumni Weekend include:

  • Planning and organising the programme of the event
  • Organising venues for sleeping and workshops
  • Creating and managing the call for trainers and trainees
  • Fundraising
  • Leading a team of organisers
  • Communicating with participants and publishing information about the event

Notes: the Head-Organisers will also be working in cooperation and/or be supported by Board Members in their respective fields of responsibilities. The Alumni Weekend is should take place during summertime or early autumn. The previous alumni weekend was head-organised by Raphael Bek.

The Alumni Weekend is different slightly different from a session and also allows for creative input from the Head-Organisers side in regards to evening programme, environment and spirit.

EYP on Ski

The main responsibilities for Head-Organisers of the EYP on Ski include:

  • Finding and organising a sleeping venue
  • Creating and managing the call for participant
  • Communicating with participants and publishing information about the event

Notes: EYP on Ski is a non-academic social event and should take place during winter. The previous EYP on Ski was head-organised by Johanna Ebner.

How to apply

The ideal number of Head-Organisers for both events is two persons respectively. Your application needs to include:

  • Personal data
  • Session history (and relevant organising experience)
  • Personal motivation
  • Concept, vision, ideas…

The application deadline is Friday, 6th of June 2014, 23:59 CET.
UPDATE: The deadline for EYP on Ski has been extended until Friday, 20th of June 2014, 23:59 CET.

The attachments of a rough budget is optional, however can be beneficial for your application. This is a great chance to make an event your own. Looking at the amount of events that EYP Austria has hosted in the past, we can safely say that organising is a truly fun and enriching experience. Use this opportunity.

Hinsichtlich unserer Generalversammlung am 7. Juni 2014 in Wien veröffentlichen wir hiermit die Manifeste der Wahlkandidaten für die Vorstandswahlen 2014 aus. Für jeweilige Positionen aus der Ausschreibung stehen folgende Kandidaten zur Wahl:

Alle ordentlichen Mitglieder sind aufgerufen von ihrem Wahlrecht in der Generalversammlung gebrauch zu machen. Die Generalversammlung wird am 7. Juni ab 16 Uhr stattfinden; die genaue Location in Wien können wir aktuell leider noch nicht bestätigen (tba). Das Programm, die Tagesordnung der Generalversammlung 2014 und die Details zur Veranstaltung werden ASAP in den nächsten Tagen ausgesendet. Das wählen in Abwesenheit ist durch die Bevollmächtigung eines anwesenden Mitgliedes möglich.

Generalversammlung 2014

Liebe Mitglieder,

Die diesjährige Generalversammlung 2014 des Europäischen Jugendparlaments Österreich (EYP Austria) findet am 7. Juni, 16 Uhr in Wien statt (Ort wird noch bekannt gegeben). Die jährliche Generalversammlung dient dazu, den Vorstand des alten Jahres zu entlasten sowie einen neuen Vorstand für das kommende Jahr zu wählen. Weiters stehen am Programm: Revue vergangener Events, Diskussion der kommenden Vorhaben,  Präsentation einer Kostenaufstellung des vergangenen Jahres und eines Budgets für die nächste Periode.

Zu diesem Anlass freuen wir uns, die Vorstandspositionen des Europäischen Jugendparlaments Österreich auszuschreiben. Bitte entnehmt dem Anhang die möglichen Positionen sowie die Voraussetzungen die an diese geknüpft sind sowie deren Verantwortungsbereiche. Um euch für eine Position zu bewerben, bitten wir euch ein Manifest zu schreiben, welches folgende Elemente zwingend enthalten muss:

  • Vor- und Nachname, Geburtsdatum
  • EYP Session History
  • Kurze Vorstellung zur Person (max. 100 Wörter)
  • Persönliche Motivation zur Position, für die man sich bewirbt (max. 300 Wörter)
  • Optional: Foto

Alle Manifeste werde nach Ablauf der Abgabefrist per Email an alle Mitglieder von EYP Austria geschickt. Mitglieder, welche nicht an der Generalversammlung anwesend sein können, haben die Möglichkeit ein anderes Mitglied zu bevollmächtigen. Für eine gültige Stimmabgabe muss für jede Position eine Stimme abgegeben werden. Genaue Details zum Wahlvorgang werden mit den Kandidatenmanifesten mitgesendet.

Der zeitliche Ablauf bis zur Generalversammlung am 7. Juni ist wie folgt:

Es wird ausdrücklich darauf hingewiesen, dass nur Kandidaten, die bis zum 21. Mai 2013, 12:00 CET ihre Manifeste einsenden an der Wahl am 7. Juni teilnehmen dürfen. Generell müssen alle zur Wahl stehenden Kandidaten persönlich anwesend sein. In begründeten Fällen ist es allerdings möglich, per Videobotschaft auf der Generalversammlung vertreten zu sein. In diesem Fall bitten wir Kandidaten darum, in ihrem Manifest eine Emailadresse oder Telefonnummer anzugeben, unter der sie vor der Generalversammlung für Fragen zur Verfügung stehen.

Eine Vorstandsposition bei EYP Austria inne zu haben bedeutet viel Verantwortung – aber auch Gestaltungsfreiraum, die Möglichkeit, Visionen in einer NGO umzusetzen und eine einzigartige Möglichkeit mit einem Team von motivierten und politisch passionierten Menschen zusammen zu arbeiten. Weiters ist diese Vorstandsposition auch auf einem CV nicht unbedeutsam und bringt mit Sicherheit wertvolle Arbeitserfahrung im NGO-Bereich.

Bei jeglichen Unklarheiten oder Fragen sind wir gerne für euch da. Wenn ihr Fragen zu bestimmten Aufgabenbereichen von den Vorstandspositionen habt, dann könnt ihr uns auch gerne persönlich kontaktieren.

Wahlberechtigte Mitglieder sind alle jene, die zum Stichtag 6. Juni einen gültigen Mitgliedsbeitrag vorweisen können. Verhinderte Mitglieder können ihr Stimmrecht mittels der unten zum Download verfügbaren Bevollmächtigungserklärung an ein anderes wahlberechtigtes Mitglied übertragen. Die Bevollmächtigung ist für alle Abstimmungen und Wahlen gültig und bei Beginn der Generalversammlung vorzuweisen.
