Online Workshop – Gender Equality and Sexism in EYP
/in National UpdatesOn Monday, 21 September 2020, at 16:00 our member Hanna Begic is delivering an online workshop, the purpose of which is to give the members of EYP Austria the opportunity to reflect and discuss gender equality and sexism within our organisation.
Participants will have the chance to share their own experiences regarding gender equality within the network, learn about tools and techniques to prevent gender discrimination and sexism and contribute their ideas on how to improve gender equality and eliminate gender bias within the network.

EYP Austria goes to Kunsthalle Wien | 16 September 2020
/in National UpdatesFor our next socialising, we’re visiting Kunsthalle Wien on Wednesday, 16 September, to see the current exhibition “… of bread, wine, cars, security and peace” which examines the notion of the “good life”, especially from the perspective of those living in the Global South. After visiting the museum there will be a chance to socialise in a café or generally within the Museumsquartier area. There will also be the opportunity to get some information on EYP Austria and EYP in general for those interested, so if you’re still new to EYP or have never participated in one of our events, you’re also very welcome to join.
We’ll be meeting at the exhibition hall at 15:00. Admission to the museum is free for those under 19, € 2 for students and € 6 for apprentices, conscripts and those doing civilian service; regular admission is € 8.
In the interest of the participants’ safety and in an effort to protect public health, we will enforce a one metre social distancing rule for the Socialising – we urge participants to also practice such safety measures on their way to and from the event!

EYP Austria goes to the Museum “Art of the Lost Generation” in Salzburg | 18 August 2020
/in National UpdatesOn Tuesday, 18 August 2020, we’re making a trip to Salzburg’s newest museum, the Museum “Art of the Lost Generation”. Under the title “The wrong place at the wrong time”, the museum is exhibiting works by a rediscovered generation whose careers were dominated by the historical circumstances of two world wars.

PBM#1 Report
/in National UpdatesDuring each board term, the Board of EYP Austria meets several times to discuss important matters in person, with the Advisory Board also typically attending to some degree for guidance.
For each of these Physical Board Meetings (PBMs), a report is compiled to inform our Members of the subjects talked about there, as well as the results of modules that will have a concrete impact on the organisation. So make sure to check out the report of our first PBM which took place in July to get an insight into the happenings of the Board and EYP Austria at large!
EYP Austria goes to the Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing | 11 August 2020
/in National UpdatesWe’re inviting everyone to a trip to the Austrian Open-Air Museum Stübing, which showcases Austrian rural architecture and its forms of settlement, economy and life in its “museum valley” near Graz, on Tuesday, 11 August 2020.
We’ll be meeting at Graz Main Station at 12:45 and from there travel to the museum together (roughly 30 minute trip). Admission is € 5.50 for school pupils, apprentices, students under 26, conscripts and those doing civilian service (Regular admission is € 11). Depending on whether you hold any (annual) public transport tickets, you might also need to pay a small fee for the trips to and from the museum.
In the interest of the participants’ safety and in an effort to protect public health, we will enforce a one metre social distancing rule for the Socialising – we urge participants to also practice such safety measures on their way to and from the event!
Should there be bad weather, we’ll instead go to the History Museum in Graz; meeting point and time will be announced timely in that event.

/in National UpdatesWe are glad to announce that our call for Team Members for the 2020/21 board term is currently open. The call for the Team on Event and School Coordination, the Team on International Affairs and the Academic Quality Team ends this Sunday, 9 August, 23:59 CEST.
Joining a team is the perfect opportunity to find out more about EYP Austria and how it works behind the scenes, whilst helping us with essential tasks that will ensure the smooth running of the organisation.
