EYP Austria plays Among Us | 10 October

Now that our lockdown response online socialisings already lie back some time, we’re coming to you with a night of playing Among Us this Saturday, 10 October, 21:00 CEST.

The digital meeting space for the event will be EYP Austria’s Discord server, meaning that only paying Members of EYP Austria can participate in the event. If you are a Member, but have no access to the Discord server, just reach out to any of the Board Members! Otherwise you only need to have the game downloaded on a device to be able to join.

For those not so familiar with the game, it is somewhat similar to the popular Werewolf game: The premise of Among Us is quite simple: you are one of four to ten players on a spaceship. One to three of these players are Impostor(s) whose main goal is to kill and sabotage. The remainder of the players are part of the regular crew whose primary goal is to survive and complete their tasks.

If you intend to come, just indicate so via Facebook, by filling out our Google Form or just dropping a message on the Discord server. For further information, you can contact Tim Tomic, who is in charge of the Socialising, on the EYP Austria Discord server.

Selection Reports & Report News

Since the start of the new board period, already several selections for positions within EYP Austria have taken place. Whenever a selection occurs in our organisation, we create a selection report, which we then share with you in order to provide transparency.

To increase accessibility to all of our reports we have now started to compile all Selection Reports, PBM Reports, General Assembly Protocols and other similar documents to which we still have access in a publicly accessible folder within the EYP AT Shared Drive that everyone with an @eyp.at email address has regular access to. All future reports will also be added to the drive, alongside the ordinary notices in the National Newsletter.

You can now view the Selection Reports for Head-Organisers, Understanding Europe Coordinators, General Team Members, Academic Team Members, Legal Advisors and Digital Session Organisers in the aforementioned folder.

Digital Session Calls for Leadership and Delegates

Our very first Digital Session, head-organised by Stephanie Resisinger and Paula Kampits, taking place from 11 to 13 December (12 to 13 for Delegates), is currently calling for leadership! Those interested in presiding or editing the session can still apply until this Sunday, 1 November 2020, 23:59 CET

Whilst the session’s President will be responsible for leading the Chairs’ Team and taking ownership over the academic concept and inter-team cooperation, the Editor(s) will lead the Media Team and have creative as well as executive leadership over the team’s output.

Find the official call document and application document here; we’re looking forward to your high-quality applications!

The Call for Delegates has also recently opened, so if you are interested in participating in an innovative online event that will allow you to debate issues on a European level with other committed youths, or know someone who you think would enjoy this experience, now’s the time!
You can apply here until 29 November 2020, 23:59 CET. Make sure to sign up soon to secure your spot!

Policy Changes

We want to inform you that we have changed two of EYP Austria’s policies, namely the Policy on Elections and the Policy on Reimbursements. Whilst the former has been adapted so as to clarify who can put themselves up for election in relation to the submission of manifestos (which are not mandatory), the latter now covers cash reimbursements more vigorously. Make sure to check them out for further details! Anyone with an @eyp.at email address also has general access to all of EYP Austria’s policies through the organisation’s shared drive.

Legal Advisor Call

We are delighted to declare our call for Legal Advisors for the academic year 2020/21 officially open. You can apply until 27 September 2020, 23:59 CEST.

Our vision for this role is one person or a small group of persons working together to support EYP Austria in matters that demand a certain amount of legal expertise. This support would mainly consist of small legal research projects whenever EYP Austria finds itself in a situation where greater legal clarity is required. This is an excellent opportunity for Members with expertise in the legal field to secure and shape – and gain valuable insights into – the legal framework of EYP Austria.

Find the official call document and application document here.

We’re looking forward to your applications!

Online Workshop – Gender Equality and Sexism in EYP | 22 September 2020

Unlike originally announced, Hanna Begic’s online workshop will now take place on Tuesday, 22 September 2020, at 16:00. The purpose of the workshop is to give the members of EYP Austria the opportunity to reflect and discuss gender equality and sexism within our organisation.

Participants will have the chance to share their own experiences regarding gender equality within the network, learn about tools and techniques to prevent gender discrimination and sexism and contribute their ideas on how to improve gender equality and eliminate gender bias within the network.

We’re also asking you to fill out this survey before the workshop.
If you intend to come, please indicate so via Facebook or by filling out our Google Form.
