Policy Amendment

With the General Assembly approaching, we want to hereby inform you that the Board of EYP Austria has amended the Policy on Membership of EYP AT Representatives. Previously, it only mandated that Organisers of multi-day sessions had to be extraordinary members, which has now been expanded to all Officials of multi-day sessions who are not members of other National Committees.

You can check out EYP Austria’s Policy procedure for the details of our policy mechanisms. Most importantly, this amendment will be up for debate and can be revoked again at the upcoming General Assembly, together with the other policies that have been amended during the current board period: ReimbursementsElections, and Selections.

You can find all Policies of EYP Austria and the Policy procedure in this dedicated folder on the EYP AT Drive.

PBM#6.1 Report

Despite the recent COVID-19 restriction easing, the Board of EYP Austria conducted the second half of its sixth split “Physical” Board Meeting (PBM) online, committing to a now tried and true format. During the meeting, the Board discussed important matters regarding the organisation, with Advisory Board Members also attending.

As with all PBMs, a report has been compiled to inform our Members of the subjects talked about there, as well as the results of modules that will have a concrete impact on the organisation. So make sure to check out the report of PBM#6.1 to get an insight into the happenings of the Board and EYP Austria at large! Most notably the Board reflected its decision-making processes during the past Board period, made preparations for the upcoming General Assembly, drafted the preliminary financial estimate for the budget 2021/22, developed measures that should improve the experience of everyone involved in our multi-day sessions, especially Head-Organisers, and added this year’s final updates to the new National Strategy.

European Youth Event | 4 – 9 October

The European Youth Event (EYE) brings thousands of young people from all over the European Union and beyond together at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. It is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30 years old to interact in-person and online, inspire each other and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and decision-makers, right in the heart of European democracy.

EYE2021 will run virtual activities from 4 October, leading up to the main event on 8 and 9 October 2021, which will feature both virtual and in-person activities in Strasbourg, as well as new hybrid formats.

Our umbrella organisation JEF Austria is now organising a delegation for the physical events in Strasbourg on 8 and 9 October that you can sign up for using this form. We encourage you to become a part of this great event!

General Assembly | 20 June

Our General Assembly is taking place on Zoom on Sunday, 20 June, from 13:00 CEST onwards, with admission starting at 12:30 CEST:

Meeting ID: 922 7023 8608

The General Assembly will include the elections for Board Members, Advisory Board Members and Auditors for the 2021/22 term and thereby have a significant impact on the organisation for the upcoming year, so we encourage all members to check that they are still extraordinary members with voting rights (i.e. paying the annual membership fee) and participate in our organisational democracy!

The manifestos of the candidates have already been sent out to our extraordinary members by the electoral commission, together with information on the voting procedure and technology used. Additionally, you can find the Notice of Date, Proxy Statement and Agenda in the folder with all relevant documents

If you can’t make it to the event, you still have the opportunity to transfer your vote until Saturday, 19 June, to someone who can come. For this, see further information in the Notice of Date and the Proxy Statement.

If you intend to come, we would appreciate it if you would indicate so using our Google Form! Additionally, you can add the event on Facebook.

EYP Austria goes Pride

The Vienna Pride Parade is happening this Saturday on 19 June, and as EYP Austria, we encourage our members to join the celebration and demonstration in support of LGBTQIA+ rights! If you want to come but don’t know who to go with or where to be, you can reach out to Hannah Aichhorn (hannah.aichhorn@eyp.at | +43 650 2704593), who is our EYP Austria contact person for the event. You should also check out the wide variety of other events (https://viennapride.at/en/events/) hosted by Vienna Pride until 20 June.

We’re also happy to have L Zöhrer (elke.zoehrer@eyp.at) as the EYP Austria contact person for Christopher Street Day Graz on 3 July. There will be more information on a meeting point and time as soon as there is more information on the event.

Stay loud and proud!
