European Future Forum: Horizon Europe, Research and Innovation
17 November 2021 in OnlineGeneral information
On 17 November, EYP Austria is hosting its second European Future Forum, this time with the topic "Horizon Europe, Research and Innovation: where should science lead us?".
Over the course of the English-language programme lasting from 9:00 to 13:00 CET (this will include breaks), there will be an expert talk on the topic by our special guest Philipp Brugner, and discussions about possible visions of the future within smaller groups among the participants.
The event’s main focus will be Horizon Europe, the biggest multinational funding programme for research and innovation that will finance thousands of projects with a budget of €95.5 billion until 2027. We want to examine the origin and the structure of the programme and focus on the political, economic and social relevance of the research it will fund. In connection, we will also talk about the scientific work environment in a European context and in close relationship with the EU, which shall give school and university students valuable insights for their career orientation.
Philipp Brugner is leading project manager for EU-funded projects at ZSI - Centre for Social Innovation and writes commentaries on European politics for newspapers in Austria and Switzerland.
The event is taking place online and open to all interested individuals aged 16 and over. You can currently register either as a group of four students from the same school or as an individual participant for the event.
Our European Future Forum is part of the Conference on the Future of Europe - you can find the entry on the platform here.
